Fieldston home in the spotlight

A house being offered for sale by Trebach Realty in the Fieldston Historic District was featured on a recent broadcast of WNBC-TV’s Open House NYC, a weekly program about real estate in the New York tristate area.

The segment, which was hosted by Brad Trebach of Trebach Realty, was broadcast twice on Sunday, Jan. 13 on Channel 4.

The five-bedroom 1920’s Tudor Revival-style house on Delafield Avenue is priced at $6.75 million. Completely renovated in 2005, it has a front porch, a side breezeway, a rear patio, and is set on more than a third of an acre.

Local shutterbug


Jim Grossman, a Riverdale resident, snapped this award-winning photo above. The shot, titled the "Tip of Manhattan," was recently named Photo of the Month on the popular digital photography site, Steve Digicams. Mr. Grossman, a public relations exec by day, shutterbug by night, also snapped the festive cover shot for The Riverdale Press' recent holiday guide.

The Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is facing a $175,000 cut under a new city Department of Cultural Affairs formula. "We have a financial crisis that is one of the biggest in Lehman's history," said Eva Bornstein, executive director of the Lehman Center.

Vandals struck in North Riverdale last week, smashing the windows and damaging the bodies of as many as seven cars parked on the street.

And David and Marisa Birnbaum, a brother and sister team, came up with a smart idea that is saving time at the dentist's office. The pair is featured in this week's Window Shopper.
