More train trouble
This might be a good weekend to stay in the neighborhood.
There will be No. 1 trains running between West 242nd and West 168th streets, between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.
The MTA will have shuttle buses running between West 242nd and West 207th streets, but if you don’t feel like putting up with the hassle, consider these Bronx-centric alternatives:
The 9th Annual Bronx International Film Festival features new short and feature narrative, documentary, animation and experimental films. It runs through tomorrow night at Lehman College. Tickets cost $5 a night.
Every Saturday, Wave Hill hosts Tai Chi Chuan classes for beginners and intermediates. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m., with the beginners’ class at 10 a.m. and the intermediates’ at 11 a.m.
For music and drinks, consider catching Johnny Seven at An Beal Bocht in Riverdale, at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Punch Bowl props
Robert Simonson wrote a piece about The Punch Bowl, for Eater. Mr. Simonson writes about the lesser-known bars in New York.
"There are more than 6,000 bars in New York City. About 200 of them get regular press. This column is about the other ones," are the words at the top of each column.
In his item about the Punch Bowl, he wrote that he enjoyed drinking at the century old bar, located at the corner of West 238th Street and Broadway.
"I've rarely seen the years melt together as seamlessly as they do at The Punch Bowl," he wrote.

Seeing double in tix-fix story
UPDATE: The Daily News has updated its tic-fix story to include the following statement:
"The alleged preferential treatment was first reported in the Riverdale Press."
Thanks! No harm no foul!
They say imitation is the fondest form of flattery.
If that’s the case, then thank you Daily News, we really appreciate the compliment!
The day after The Riverdale Press published its exclusive story about a retired cop who got special treatment during his Five-O drunk driving arrest, the News had an oddly similar story about the exact same thing. (Gasp!)
Apparently, the Daily News doesn’t believe in giving credit where credit is due. No biggie Daily, it’s enough for us to know that our reporting made it citywide … kinda.
